AP Govt Reinstates Ramesh Kumar As SEC:- After a months-long legal battle, the government of Andhra Pradesh retained Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the State Election Commissioner of the state. It was Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar who postponed the local body polls in the state after which he was sacked by the government. Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar approached the High Court and Supreme Court which asked the AP government to reinstate his position. On late Thursday, the government of Andhra Pradesh issued an order about reinstating Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the SEC. AP Government recently appointed V Kanagaraj, a retired judge from Tamil Nadu as the State Election Commissioner after Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar was sacked.

On July 21st, the governor of the state asked the government to reappoint Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The government of Andhra Pradesh after it received no relief in the Supreme Court. Gopala Krishna Dwivedi, the Principal Secretary of Panchayatraj issued the orders last night in the name of Biswa Bhushan Harichandan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh restoring Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the State Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh in the subject to the final outcome of Special Leave Petition that was pending in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court during the last hearing said that the state government's intentions are not observed to be innocent in the case of Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
