Violence Triggered: 144 Section Imposed Near Sabarimala Temple

Violence Triggered: 144 Section Imposed Near Sabarimala Temple:- For the first time after the Supreme Court made a sensational decision to allow women into the Sabiramala temple in Kerala, the temple opened for visit. The state has been left in tensed state after several protesters camped in and around Sabarimala to stop women from entering the temple premises. Kerala Government said that stringent action will be taken on those who oppose the law and the decision of the Supreme Court. With violence triggered across several places today, 144 section has been imposed in four places - Pamban, Sannidhanam, Elavunkal and Nilakkal.

Several women and families returned back with the attacks and the unusual incidents that took place today. Women journalists have been heckled, their vehicles smashed by protesters. Kerala Government tightened the security after some unusual incidents in the region. Various Hindu organizations staged protests holding placards. Despite of the heavy police presence, several women have been pushed and manhandled which made the situations worse. 500 police including 100 women, are posted at Nilakkal.
