Tollywood Power Star and Jana Sena Chief, Pawan Kalyan, today, is going to interact with the AgriGold victims at 11:30am.

The venue is Tummalapalli Kala Kshetram, in Hanumanpet, Vijayawada.

Representatives from the states of AP, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Orissa will attend the outreach.

The scam, which came to light in 2015, relating to the kidney patients and the problems of Mangalagiri weavers in Amaravati.

The scam has affected about 19 lakh people either directly or indirectly, for nearly two years.

The plight of the agrigold victims caught public attention, after TDP and YSRCP, crossed swords in the Assembly.

YS Jagan, kicked up a storm in the Assembly, after he alleged that Agriculture Minister Pratipati Pulla Rao was involved in the purchase of Agri Gold properties, 14 acres of land.

The assembly sessions, failed to progress on the case under investigation by the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

Further, the measures initiated by the government, to take measures to liquidate the assets through public auction failed, for various reasons.

Following a complaint of fraud, the West Godavari police registered a case against the AgriGold management at Pedapadu police station.

A subsequent raid, was carried on the houses and offices of the AgriGold Chairman A Venkata Rama Rao and Managing Director A Venkata Seshu Narayana Rao.

Over 32 lakh depositors from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh were cheated and their deposits amounting to nearly Rs 6,800 crore were siphoned off by the management.

So far, 110 people have lost their lives due to suicides, as there were no signs of recovering their hard-earned money from the clutches of the company.

About Rs. 20,000 CR is estimated to have been swindled, which includes 1,700 acres of farm lands, power projects, dairy and dairy products and organic firms.

No further response was evoked from any prospective bidders, for an open auction of 180 acres of lands with dairy and agri-fertilizers unit, due to apprehensions over according permissions in the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).

The lands at Keesarapalli fall, under this region.

A senior official from the CID department said, that as there was no response from the bidders, over Rs 36 lakh the government spent on media advertisements, for auction of Keesara properties, in Krishna District went wasted.

The agrigold management has managed to sell away the machinery and the other costly equipment.

It is even alleged that, the properties held by the benamis of the company remained unattached to the government and were getting disposed and converted into cash.

AgriGold Victims Welfare Association president Mozes said the victims are unable to get back their money, as the CID failed to arrest all the accused in the case.

Of the 19 accused, only seven were arrested.

Mozes commented, that the proceeds accrued by way of asset liquidation did not cross Rs 16 crore in the last two years.

“He sought to know how much time the government will take to convert the properties of the firm into cash and return deposits to the victims.”
