50 Passports found in a Post Box in Chennai

In a shocking incident, around 50 passports were found inside a post box at Nanganallur, Chennai.

According to a senior postal department officer, the passports were dumped on three different dates this month.

Police have started the investigation and are probing all different angles in this case. They are trying to find out how and when the passports were dumped..

The official added that some of the passports are dated current. Some are expired and some are foreign passports.

The area where the passports were found is located about two km from the airport.

Meanwhile, police suspect the holders have lost their passports at the airport. They are also suspecting that this can be a huge racket which makes fake passports.

Police added that their won’t be any CBI inquiry unless it is needed. They are trying to verify the identities by the details in the passport after which they would be able to come to a conclusion.
