Telangana formation day: Flag worth 1.8 crore takes hoist

It is known that, Telangana Chief Minister KCR has decided to hoist the country’s biggest national flag on the occasion of Telangana formation day on June 2nd.

Now, as per the reports, the flag that got ready for the formation day, is reportedly worth Rs. 1.8 crore.

The flag is being treated as the prestige issue of the Telangana government, but the analysts say that, it would be tough to get approval from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as such large flags is expected to obstruct the movement of air traffic and hence the delay.

However, after making several calculations, if the AAI gives its approval, then a 303 feet (92.35 metros) tricolor flag will be hoisted at the Sanjeevaiah Park.

Made up of polyester, the 72 feet by 108 feet flag, was brought from Mumbai. Weighing 92 kgs, the latest flag is around 10 metres bigger than the flag at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Telangana state government on the beforehand, has procured four more similar flags for replacement, in case of any kind of damage.
