Monkey starts engine and drives bus in UP

At the sight of watching a bus driver’s seat empty, a monkey, got into the bus and put it on the second gear and started driving it.

The incident which left several, smile, took place in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The bus driver of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), parked the bus, at the old roadways station. As there was half an hour more to go for the departure, the driver took a short nap.

It was then, a monkey appeared and climbed directly onto the driver’s seat and to the shock, even started the engine, as the ignition key was then, in its slot.

The panicked driver, immediately got alerted and rushed to the driver’s cabin and tried to chase the monkey. In this process, the monkey unknowingly shifted the gear to the second level and jumped out of the bus.  
     
But as the second gear was already on, the bus moved forward, panicking the passengers and scatter in their own ways.

Responding to the incident, UPSRTC regional manager SK Sharma said, “The duty staff at the control room nearby were unable to find the reason behind the disturbance. The driver managed to regain control of the bus, but not before it hit two other parked buses.”

Sharma further added, “Monkeys have become a regular menace at bus stations and workshops, where they often fiddle with vehicles undergoing repair. They have also damaged CCTV cameras at stations. Three years back we had taken the help of municipal authorities to get rid of them, but they have returned.”

The manager further assured to talk to the municipal authorities to send the concerned authorities, for catching hold of the monkeys around the bus station and transfer to a different place.  

Whatever it be, the incident has left a good, funny memory to the people, in the surroundings.
