AP cabinet: Kapu quota, sand mafia, Aadhar, helmets

Yesterday, the Andhra Pradesh cabinet discussed about the construction plans of Amaravati capital, sand mafia and the reservation procedure for the Kapu community and made a  few proposals on all the issues.  

Speaking about the discussions made in the AP cabinet meeting, Agriculture Minister Prattipati Pullarao and MAUD Minister P Narayana said that, the cabinet decided to shift the employees from Hyderabad to Vijaywada as early as possible. The people who would come forward to shift before June 2, 2016, would be provided temporary accommodation by the government.

He further said that, the people who shift to Vijaywada by 2017, would be considered as locals. Moreover, the employees shifting to AP before the said time, will also be given the housing loans.  

AP cabinet: PD Act against the sand mafia

The AP cabinet even discussed about the sand mafia, and decided to implement the PD Act, against the people who perform it, and also will also make an IAS or IPS officer in charge, to check the sand mafia.   

Moreover, as announced in the policy, the government will not run the liquor shops, but all those, that were earmarked as government retail outlets, would be given away to the private people, through a lottery.  

AP cabinet: Rs. 100 crore fund to Kapu corporation

Prathipati said, the cabinet did not take any final decision about the reservations for the Kapus, though a prolonged discussion was made on it. However, Rs. 100 crore fund, would be provided, for the Kapu corporation.

AP cabinet: Aadhar as single multipurpose identity card

Along with the above decisions, another significant decision made in the cabinet meeting, is to replace Aadhar, in the place of caste, income and address proof, for the poorer sections, to provide them the eligibility, for the government welfare schemes.

AP cabinet: Helmets mandatory from January

A few days back, AP government decided to make helmets mandatory. But later, it postponed the decision and decided to create an awareness about the helmet, for a few days. In the yesterday’s meeting, it was decided to make helmets mandatory from January. Finally, an Urdu university has been decided to set up in the Kurnool district.
