Proof: Naidu spent Rs.100 crores on himself

“Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu spent Rs. 100 crores of public money for himself,” the reports said.

It is known that, in almost all the public meetings held after 2014 elections, Naidu said that, Andhra Pradesh is in deep financial crisis and assured the development of the state in the near future. In fact, he even started cutting down a portion of the government staff salaries every month, for the AP capital construction, claiming the scarcity of the funds.

But reportedly, it was found out that, Naidu had spent Rs. 100 crores of public money on himself. He spent the money on the construction of four offices for the CM and camp offices in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. This particular new office in Vijayawada is constructed with the whopping Rs. 21.3 crore. Along with this, for converting the irrigation circle office as the camp office, the government had spent another Rs. 6.3  crores and Rs.15 crores are just spent on its security set-up.

Naidu spent crores on offices and its renovations

Along with this, for refurbishing the Lake View Guest house, along with two blocks of the AP Secretariat in Hyderabad, Naidu spent Rs. 45 crores. After winning the 2014 elections, reportedly, he ordered a renovation of his new office spending Rs. 15 crores on it. Later, complaining, bad ‘vaastu’, he shifted the office to another block of the secretariat, for which, the figures of the renovation showed Rs. 20 crores and Rs. 5 crores for other security arrangements like the new lifts, entrances etc.

Other than this, reportedly Naidu spent a huge amount for the construction of the camp office near to his newly rented accommodation in Jubilee Hills. As per the sources, the rent of the camp office is Rs. 2 lakh per month, excluding the rent of his accommodation, which is treated under a separate head.

Naidu spent crores for travelling

However, not just for offices, Naidu even spent a huge amount of public money to travel. For all the foreign tours like Japan, China, Davos etc, Naidu made during these ten months, he has insisted on using private chartered planes.

“The government has paid Rs 15 crore (GO No. 30) to these private flight operators up to February. Another Rs 7 crore has to be paid for the month of February and March. The bill for the month of April has not yet been received,” said sources in the government.

Naidu also insists on holding government meetings in different areas of the State. This means that the state must accommodate the expenditure of travel and accommodation for all government officers.

“Instead of going about his work by displaying austerity, the AP CM is doing the exact opposite and bleeding the state’s coffers,” said a senior official, who did not want to be named.

Financial status of Andhra Pradesh

At the present situation, reportedly, the Andhra Pradesh government is facing Rs. 1.46 lakh crores of debt, among which 91% is just the farmers’ debt. If calculated, the debt of the each farmer would be Rs. 1.25 lakh.

Andhrawishesh view

Though Naidu is aware of all these situations, even then, his uncompromising nature on his luxuries, might show a severe negative impact among the public and might further worsen his image, which is already been spoiled by the cash for vote scam and phone conversation issue. Especially, the government employees might not spare this issue, as their salaries are cut down, complaining the scarcity of the funds.
