Shiv Sena came out strongly against the Peoples Democratic Party and hit out at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed saying, 'he is standing with the terrorists like a father figure'. Saamana, party's mouthpiece said, "Supporting terrorists is treason. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed should be acted against them. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister is standing with the terrorists like a father figure." Shiv Sena criticized PDP for its sympathy towards Pakistan, militants and separatists over the interests of India. 

Bharatiya Janata Party had already issued an ultimatum to its coalition partner Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir to mend its ways. BJP has warned Sayeed to either mend his ways or else they will have to call off the alliance. The BJP has made it clear that national security takes precedence over politics. The remarks came even as PDP assured Centre, that it will not release any political prisoners without consulting it.

"Our priority is not government. There will be no compromise either on national security or Common Minimum Program (CMP). Ideology will not be sacrificed," BJP said. "No one should think that we will bend to run the government. One should be ready for consequences if this happens next time," it added.
