Narendra Modi's Transformation

Narendra Modi made the event of "Nav Bharat Yuv Bheri", as expected, a launching pad for his transformation from the State Head of Gujarat to the National level as he is expected to be the Prime Minister candidate of BJP for the 2014 elections.

As such, he understandably targeted ruling Congress party and referred to the national issues like BSF Jawans beheaded by Pakistan army and recent firing on the Jawans at Pakistan Border, Italian Mariners shooting fishermen in Kerala sea waters etc.

Narendra Modi handled points of sensitive situation in his speech, like State bifurcation with caution and dexterity.   First he related himself with Hyderabad saying that the Hyderabad liberation day i.e., 17th September is his birth day.  Then he related Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.  He said that 4 lakhs of people are living in Gujarat who are considered as brethren by the Gujaratis and said that Telugu medium schools exist in the State.

He said that BJP right from the beginning wanted to give Telangana a separate State and promised that it will be given in 100 days after coming to power.  But at the same time BJP is concerned about the welfare of Seemandhra.

His speech was for the bifurcation but against Congress way of handling it.  He said that the Center now asking Seemandhras to have Hyderabad as a combined Capital for ten days during which time Andhra can develop its own Capital.   He questioned why the development of a separate capital was envisaged in 2004 and why it is delayed till now.

Modi expressed his concern about youth who are without jobs to earn and increasing number of suicides in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra in which States congress is ruling.  He expressed his concern about the poor without food without shelter, without clothes and without medical facilities.

Modi remembered N T Rama Rao who was not only a pride of Telugu people but also did a great work at Center too by strengthening non-congress parties to form NDA.  He also said that the real tribute to such a great soul is to oust Congress party from the country.

At the end of the speech Modi said that when Telugu people are living in Gujarat with peace why not Telangana people and Andhras cannot live with harmony.  He expressed his belief that there cannot be a division in the hearts of the brothers of same mother.  He wished that Andhra will surpass Gujarat in development.  He also said that the Telangana will develop more than Gujarat.

He ended his speech by asking the youth to repeat with him in Obama style.  Yes, we can… Yes, we do…Jai Telangana, Jai Seemandhra, Bharat Mataki Jai, Vande Mataram.
