Apply For Passport Through Cell Phone

Central Chief Passport Officer Muktesh Paradesi says that within three months application through smart phones for a passport will be made available.  An android phone application is developed for the purpose.  

While opening the Control Room to integrate Regional Passport offices with the help of CCTVs, Paradesi said that in future a passport can be applied from an android cell phone for which a phone app “m-passport” is developed.  He also said that an effort is being made to integrate the passport office data with Aadhar data for verification.  Paradesi says that e-seva centers also will be geared up to extend their services to passport also and a discussion is going on with the State Government to that effect.  

The Regional Passport Officer Dr.K.Sreekara Reddy said that the CCTV Center started at Hyderabad is first to be installed in India using which the applicants can talk to the officer from passport service centers through webcams during the working hours of 10 am to 5 pm.
