Police insist CCTVs at internet cafes

In the wake of enhanced threats of another terrorist attack in the city, police are cracking the whip on all the internet cafes operating across Hyderabad. They have been insisting cafe owners to keep strict records and install CCTV monitoring immediately. But, many did not heed that advice. Consequently, the police have suspended and closed down several cafes for not abiding to the rules.

Now, Cafe owners are wallowing that customers do not like this interference and that they will lose business with all the rules. Some have even threatened to close down completely as they have been finding it hard to run the internet cafes with police watching over their backs every minute.

After many checks, one such cafe in Khairtabad was sealed and many others received notices. About 60 cafes in the East, West, Central and North zones of Hyderabad and Secunderabad are under scrutiny. This will also restrain the rising incidences of clandestine romancing between city boys and girls that the cafes are infamous for.
