Saraswati Pushkaras from today

Pushkara festival for Saraswati River is organized at Kaleswaram Temple in Karimnagar District today.  The festival will be observed till June 30th.   Arrangements are made at Saraswati Temple on the banks of River Godavari taking in to account the heavy crowds of devotees to throng the pilgrim place.

This in fact is a tribute to the river that is not flowing on the surface of the Earth.  Just like Hamsa a divine bird and Parijatha a divine flower, Saraswati River is also described in the scripts but it is not seen by the people in Kali Yug.  Scholars say that the River is flowing under the Earth.

Just like Triveni Sangamam where it is said to be the place of merger of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, Kaleswaram is the place of merging place for Godavari, Pranahita and Saraswati again the later not to be seen.

Saraswati Pushkaras will start tomorrow and end on 11th of June in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana.  As per the Pandits the pushkaras start at 7.17 am on 31st May at the time the Guru (Jupiter) enters Mithuna Rasi (Gemini).
