Ultimate disgrace for Lakshmi Parvathi

There couldn't have been more disgrace meted out to Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvati, the wife of the former CM and the founder of the Telugu Desam Party N T Rama Rao. While his husband is being posthumously honored at the Parliament with a statue, she wasn't even invited to the event felicitating her own husband.

Neither did the Lok Sabha Speaker nor the Union Minister Daggubati Purandeshwari send her an invite to this grand celebration at the Parliament. Speaking in terms of legality too, she was the closest living heir to the late Former CM of Andhra Pradesh.

She didn't expect much from Purandeshwari anyway but she was dumbstruck at the fact that even the speaker Meira Kumar didn't invite her. She questioned, “I can understand Purandeshwari not inviting me to the statue unveiling function. But why didn’t the Speaker invite me, though I am the legal heir. First of all, who is organising the function? The Speaker’s Office or Purandeshwari?”

She lamented about her woes with the media saying that this was a princely felicitation bestowed on her husband and not just any street function. It is a disappointing to not be invited to witness the rare honor despite being the wife of NT Rama Rao.
