Greed for a quick buck got them pinned

Four persons involved in selling an antique Dakshinamurthy Shankam weighing over 8 kilos silver coated and decorated with stones of different colors were nabbed by the police yesterday. Five mobile phones also were seized from them along with a Skoda car allegedly used for the operation.

Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma gave the details in the press conference called yesterday.

V.Praveen Reddy (36) of Singareni Colony in Dilsukhnagar and Ramu (35) of Bandimet approached T.Gurnadha Reddy (28) of Hyderguda and Vikram Singh (42) of Somajiguda to help them in selling the antique piece of conch claimed to have divine powers. Sandeep Reddy residing at Srinagar Colony said to have given to them for disposing.

As the information was tipped off to the police a decoy team was employed and the antique piece was asked to be brought to Somajiguda and as the accused reached Somajiguda in a Skoda car with the conch in question, they were apprehended by the police. Police are on search for Sandeep Reddy.

The story may not end there. Sandeep Reddy may mention some other’s name and finally after the ends some where there will be a handful of persons involved in it. Although no one of the chain may have ownership, all want to have a sizable quick buck and every one must have added his own commission to it to make it tradable for a sum of Rs.10.00 crores.

Police decoys negotiated for Rs.8.00 crores for which the persons negotiating agreed readily not knowing what was in store for them. The question of why a conch with divine powers is compelled to be offered for sale did not enter their minds of the persons involved in the deal as they saw only their cut in it not beyond it.
