A sea of devotees thronged Srisailam Sri Brahmarambika Mallikarjuna Swamy temple on the eve of Maha Shiva Ratri on Sunday. Exactly at 12 am on Monday, the temple priests have performed the marriage ceremony of Sri Brahmarambika Mata and Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy. It was said to be a feast to the eyes of the devotees to have the glimpse of the deity on Maha Shiva Ratri. Out of the devotees, most of them even came from across the country.

Notably, the annual Brahmotsavams were also going on at Srisailam and it was on the eight day of these annual rituals that Maha Shiva Ratri was celebrated. On the eve of this shiva ratri, Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) EO LV Subramanyam has presented silk clothes to Ammavaru and Swamyvaru on behalf of TTD. Among the VIPs who sought blessings of Lord Shiva at Srisailam, DGP Dinesh Reddy was also there.

Legend has it that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathy have self manifested here as Mallikarjuna and Brahmarambika.
