Minister Patrthasarathy gets a stay order from the High Court

Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy is a relived man today. AP high court today gave a verdict resulting a stay on the sentence of two months imprisonment and a fine of Rs five lakh imposed to him by an Economic Offense Court. According to the verdict the sentence will not be effective till the FEMA case hearing doesn't take place.

However, the minister has other reasons to worry as he has an another case against him by the Election authorities for filing an affidavit without mentioning the FEMA case during the 2009 elections. The case came into the picture when a former IAS officer filed a compliant to the Election Commission saying that the minister had violated the Representation of People’s Act by hiding the FEMA case in his affidavit. The authorities have looked into the matter and subsequently filed a case against him whose proceedings are yet to be completed.
