The Osmania University Joint Action Committe (OU-JAC) has extended its support to the Telangana Poru Yatra, a protest by CPI to pitch its voice in support of statehood for Telangana region. The OU JAC leaders Pidamarthy Ravi, Anil Kumar, Kota Srinivasulu and Rajaram Yadav have said that OU-JAC would support any political party, which fights for Telangana state. The leaders have also demanded that all MP s and MLA s from Telangana region should exert pressure on the Centre to table bill on Telangana state.

It has to be mentioned here that Telangana Poru Yatra, a tour by CPI, would be started on August 23 at Paloncha in Khammam district and culminate on September at Warangal. Announcing the yatra, CPI general secretary Narayana has said that all parties would fall in line once the government takes a stand on the issue. He, however, said TRS chief KCR's ultimatum could not be taken seriously as the latter changed the dates in the past.
