YSRC acting president YS Vijayalakshmi has reached Siricilla at around 2 pm on Monday surpassing the obstacles en route. She faced the wrath of TRS leaders at Siricilla who allegedly pelted stones on her convoy. To control the situation, the police (who were beefed up in advance suspecting such incidents) plunged into the action and control the mob. A few activists were even taken into the custody.

Prior to pelting of stones, the moment convoy entered Sircilla, a large number of women obstructed the convoy. The situation is said to be tense in Sircilla. As the police cleared the mob, Vijayamma's convoy moved ahead. It may be noted that TRS party called for a bandh in Sircilla against the dharna of Vijayamma despite the latter appealing that hand weavers' issues should not be linked to statehood issue. Meanwhile, the reports said that the bandh evoked good response in the town with retailers rolling down the shutters willfully.

On the other hand, TRS activists were staging protest in front of the AP Secretariat against police attacking the Telangana Bhavan in the city. The agitators were lifted and shifted to Saifabad police station.
