Techie arrested for posting obscene material

Techie pursuading his engineering from IIT-Delhi was detained by the police in Hyderabad for uploading obscene content of another techie studying in IIT-Kanpur.  The 22-year-old student was arrested by the cyber crime wing of the CID for allegedly posting obscene photographs of the girl  on a public blog. The investigating sleuths traced him after the Internet Protocol (IP) address of his computer and calls from his mobile phone. Police have seized the alleged computer and the mobile from Surendar and arrested him. Both the accused and the victim hail from Mahabubabad in Warangal District say police sources.

As per sources the girl first met the accused for guidance for IIT Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE). Surender who was attracted by the girl, proposed to the girl, but she refused. Eventually he bore grudge on the girl, as per his confessions, say police sources.

The superintendent of police, cyber crime, U Rammohan Rao, who confirmed the arrest, said, “Earlier, three cases were registered in Kanpur and Mahabubabad against the accused for harassing the girl and trying to forcibly marry her in the Arya Samaj office in Kanpur." Based on the complaint from the family, action was initiated against the accused.

The boy was repeatedly harrassing the girl with phone calls, SMSs and emails. And recently he had created a fake profile in the name the girl's sister on a public blog and chatted with people asking them to call her by giving the number of the girl's mother, say police sources.
