Voices of dissent grow over cabinet expansion

As stage is set for the expansion of the state cabinet with the induction of three ministers this evening, seniors are cursing the party leadership for leaving them in the lurch. Already some members have started raising their voices against the leadership for ignoring their claims to be included in the cabinet.

Prominent among those who started murmuring are R. Damodar Reddy from Nalgonda district, Gade Venkata Reddy from Guntur district, Amudalavalasa MLA Satyavathy from Srikakulam district and MLC Paladugu Venkat Rao.

CM informed Damodar reddy he could not be taken into the Cabinet as his brother Ramireddy is already a minister. Similarly, Gade Venkata Reddy was told he wouldn’t get the berth as his close relative DL Ravindra reddy was made a minister. Gade feels the argument is illogical.

Paladugu Venkat Rao claims he is senior to Ramachandraiah in the legislative council who was made a minister recently. “How can the party ignore my claims of seniority?” he is asking openly.

An angered Satyavathi went to the extent of resigning her seat protesting against the inclusion of Kondu Murali from her district. The CM has been trying his best to convince her not to resign in a hurry. (JUBS)
