The bridge on the River Swarnamukhi at Sri Kalahasti in Chittor district sank by 10 feet into the ground, according to officials.

The sinking of the bridge was discovered by vehicle users and officials this morning. However, no body knows when exactly the sinking took place. The officials stopped traffic movement on the bridge and diverted the traffic via Nellore-Pootalapattu by-pass road.

Tirupati MP Mr Chinta Sambu visited the spot and asked officials to get the quality and longevity of the bridge studied by experts. (JUBS)
