Chiru under pressure from PRP MLAs

PRP MLAs hailing from the East Godavari district said today mega star Chiranjeevi is their high command and there is no wrong in meeting him and seeking priority for them in the congress party.

Addressing a media conference after a meeting with the actor-turned politician at his residence in Hyderabad, MLAs Vanga Geetha, Gandhi Mohan and Kanna Babu said they also sought suitable posts for them in the Congress setup.

“We don’t have any dissidence for giving cabinet berths to Ramachandraiah and Ganta Srinivasa rao but we also sought importance for us in the party. What is the wrong in it?” they asked.

Observing that PRP has got a good following in their district, the MLAs said they are not at all angry over Chiru recommending the names of Ramachandraiah and Srinivasa rao for inclusion in the cabinet. “We also wanted to know about our future in the congress party,” they said, adding they would however abide by the decision of Chiranjeevi.

The PRP MLAs’ pronouncements gain significance as they come in the wake of reports of dissidence in the PRP for selecting Ramachandraiah and Ganta Srinivasa rao to be included in the cabinet.

Meanwhile, PRP sources dismissed the reports that some PRP MLAs met the Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy on Tuesday at his camp office only for seeking cabinet berths for them. “They met the CM casually and there is no importance to it,” said the sources. (JUBS)
