Anna: Power for money, money for power

Accusing the UPA government of being blind to the problems of common man who has been suffering because of rampant corruption in the country, Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare made it clear today that his agitation was not aimed at any particular person or a political party.

Addressing media persons at his native village Ralegan Siddhi near Pune before leaving for Mumbai to take up a 3-day fast in support of a stronger Lok Pal bill from Tuesday, Anna said he has been agitating against the all pervasive corruption in the country.

Charging that the government is not serious in passing a stronger Lok Pal bill, Anna said the political power and money were interlinked. “Now, it is all about money for political power and political power for money,” said Anna in a scathing attack against corrupt politicians.

Anna said people are not coming to the streets for him but for protesting against the prevalence of corruption in the country.

“After the 3 day fast in Mumbai, I will go Delhi on Dec 30 to sit on a dharna outside Sonia Gandhi’s house,” he said.
