Sonia decides to axe 16 rebel MLAs

After a series of discussions chief minister Kirankumar reddy and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana held with the party president Sonia Gandhi and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in Delhi this morning, the party high command decided to axe the 16 congress MLAs for defying the whip during the vote on the no-confidence motion.

Kirankumar met Azad twice to discuss the issue while he also met Sonia Gandhi in between the two meetings.

Party sources said that the congress legislature party leadership will lodge a complaint to the Speaker on Monday seeking the disqualification of rebel MLAs from the assembly.

Reports said that the issue of accommodating the PRP leaders in appropriate positions in the government and the party was also discussed prominently among the leaders. However, high command sources said that it would take some more time before the PRP group is accommodated in various positions.  (JUBS)
