58 CCTV cameras have been installed on vital locations in and around the temple to ensure round the clock surveillance and gun-trotting police constables would also be protecting the temple form key positions.

Gold ornaments worth more than Rs. 1 lakh Cr have been reportedly found in the cellars of the centuries old temple and a specially appointed experts committee has been asked by the Supreme Court to assess the worth of the treasure found.

The Kerala Government has spent Rs.1.5 Cr for the installation of new fool-proof security to the temple and has allotted another Rs.9 Cr to further beef up the security in the next step.

The Supreme Court appointed Committee is yet to open the sixth chamber which is said to contain more wealth. (JUBS)
