Vijayamma lists out Chandrababu’s illegalities

In her PIL filed in the high court against former Chief Minister Chandrababu and his allies, YSR widow Y.S. Vijayamma (Vijayalakshmi) cited several illegalities on part of Naidu and his family members during his Chief Ministership.

Some of the allegations made against Chandrababu are as follows.

She said Chandrababu, who had no known sources of income till 1978, had worked as minister in the state cabinet between 1978 and 1983 and also between 1985 and 1994. Saying he became chief minister on September1, 1995, the petitioner alleged Chandrababu had declared in his 1988 electoral affidavit that he had acquired 2 acres of agricultural land as his share in the family.

“He however said he bought 65 acres of land at the rate of Rs.1000 each with the income generated from the two acres and this is unbelievable. This must be probed,” she requested in her petition.
Vijayamma said Chandrababu had acquired totally 315 acres of land in benami names and pointed out he owned 19 acres in his name near Madinaguda in Hyderabad.

She said Chandrababu had taken a loan of Rs.40 lakh in 1984 from the APSFC for his wife Bhuvaneswari-owned factories Bhuvaneswari Carbides and Chemicals and Bhuvaneswari Carbides and Alloys but repaid only Rs.11 lakh as one time settlement when he was the CM in 2001.

Chandrababu has exempted Dr Reddy Laboratories from paying sales tax of Rs.25 Cr and in return its owner Mr Anjireddy purchased lands of Chandrababu family members for higher than market rates to benefit him.
Some unidentified corporate companies paid US $ 2.4 lakh towards the educational expenses of his son Lokesh when he pursued his education abroad. This amount was not shown in his IT returns, she alleged.
