A 1000-strong mob of Kakathiya University students today agitated in front of police stations and SP office in Warangal demanding the release of students arrested for attacking the house of Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Wednesday.
The students took out a rally from the KU campus and reached police head quarters and other police stations in the town raising slogans against the government and the police and demanding the release of students.
The unruly mob tried to lay siege to the SP’s office but police thwarted their attempts by force. The Warangal town looked like a fortress of security men with Rapid Action Force and CRP personnel being deployed at all sensitive spots.
Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants set ablaze a private bus parked on the Bhadrakali road in the town in the wee hours of Thursday and by the time fire fighting staff came, most part of the bus burned completely.
