Paritala’s man surrenders to the DGP

chamanLate faction leader Paritala Ravi’s main follower Mr Chaman, an accused in several murder cases, today gave up himself before the DGP Mr Dinesh Reddy in Hyderabad. Chaman is the second follower of Paritala Ravi to surrender to the police in the last one year. Previously, Mr Potula Suresh, also a lieutenant of Ravi, had surrendered.

Mr Chaman was shifted to the Panjagutta police station soon after his surrender as most of the cases in which he was involved were being dealt with by the Panjagutta police.

Chaman was also involved in several land grabbing cases in Hyderabad and three arrest warrants have already been issued on him in the past. Chaman, who was involved in an attack on congress agent Mr Gangadhar in the 2004 assembly elections at Nagasamudram, had reportedly met the Ananthapuram police two days ago and informed them he would surrender before the Hyderabad police.

Chaman went into underground soon after the killing of Paritala Ravi in 2005. He was also the main accused in the TV Bomb explosion case in the house of Maddelacheruvu Suri. Chaman remained a close follower of Paritala Ravi for more than 30 years.
