Gang of five destroying Tollywood: Natti

natti-kumarMr Natti Kumar, one of the more than 300 small producers in the Tollywood, today alleged that five big producers, who think that Tollywood is theirs, have been destroying the cine industry.

Speaking in a TV channel programme over the demand for hiking the ticket rates in the cinema halls, the small producer said that more than 300 producers have opposed the demand to raise the ticket rates but the gang of five producers went to the chief minister Kirankumar reddy personally and requested him to raise the ticket rates.

Natti Kumar said that the five producers have been spending crores of rupees for their movies and demanding the government to raise the rates with a view to get their money back in just two weeks. “But the lives of small producers will be totally destroyed,” he said in anxiety.

“Already the rates are high and if these rates go up again, the industry will be totally destroyed and the small producers would go to dogs,” he said adding the piracy problem has become bigger because of high rates only.

Producers’ council and Film Chamber of commerce have opposed the demand to raise the rates of tickets in cinema halls, he said and threatened to stage dharna in front of the CMO if the government goes ahead and increases rates bowing to their pressures.

“The raising of ticket rates is a scam, a big scam,” Natti Kumar alleged and said they would opposed tooth and nail any decision to increase the rates in cinema halls.
