TDP candidate Ms. Dandamudi Samrajyam today won the by election held to the Kukatpally division of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation defeating her nearest congress rival Mr Harish Reddy with a majority of 2167 votes.
After the victory, local TDP leaders and workers took out a rally from the counting centre at the Moosapet GHMC office to the KPHP colony but the supporters of the congress candidate clashed with them during the rally resulting in mild tension in the area.
Both Congress and TDP workers clashed with each other and damaged cars and vehicles parked on the road. At last, police descended on the scene and lathicharged both groups to disperse them.
Ready for elections anywhere any time: Chandrababu
Buoyed by the victory of his party’s candidate in the by election to the Kukatpally division of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, former chief minister and TDP chief Mr Chandrababu Naidu said that his party would contest all sorts of elections in future anywhere in the state and at any point of time.
Congratulating the winning candidate and TDP activists who met him at his residence this afternoon after the declaration of results, the TDP said that the credit of victory goes to the party workers who defeated the designs of TRS and Congress who together put up a candidate.
