Bagel heads is not a term for the people who love to eat bagels. It should have been more than love for the bagels. However, loving bagels beyond the definition of the word love doesn't make you a bagel-heads. The bagel-heads take the term quite literally and get a bagel implanted in their head. A bagel here however is made of the saline fluids injected under the skin of the forehead. As gross as it might feel for the ears, painful too, the sight is unbearable to most while Japs take the issue seriously.

Japan has always been extremely popular for weird trends in the world which are seldom followed by people in other countries but these trends gain a huge fan base in the homeland. Bagel-heads is a recent trend revealed by the National Geographic channel's program Taboo. The body modification trend is painful to even look at.

The body modification includes a bagel-shaped formation on the head that is formed by a subcutaneous injection of saline on the forehead. The result is a bump formed on the head with the excess saline that pools under the skin of the forehead. Once it reaches the maximum or optimum according to the “artist”, the needle is removed and the person injecting the saline makes a depression in the pooled saline in the center of the puffiness with his thumb. The final result is the depression in the center resembling a bagel.
