On Gandhi Jayanti, Naidu calls: Awake Arise, vote for TDP

Gandhi-Jayanti-01Has Naidu lost the 'Midas Touch', from 'V' to 'Namoshkar' mission to revamp. Looks like the Telugu Desam Party Supremo is the most troubled politician in the present days and is right now on an revamp mission. The once visionary who brought real global status to the 'Andhrudu' image, has lost out badly off late. In spite of losses in the 2005 battle Naidu was considered a strong force in the reckoning, but the verbal duels that brought out the real leader in him during the several encounters with the Congress Chief Minister Late Y S Rajashekar Reddy had down graded his image slightly. However the top of the icing was the internal feud with the founding Nandamuri clan seems have deteriorated his chances much.

Gandhi-Jayanti-02TDP cadre slowly awakened to disbelieve his charisma and the membership though increased cumulatively with every drive, turned out just namesake. Added to all this the party's 'cat on the wall' stands  on the erstwhile Telangana issue also took the toll on his image. The worst is that the party has faced severe attrition from senior leaders and that is a point to reckon. While politburo claims that it was just shedding rusted excess baggage, many feel that the leader's alienation on crucial issues and his power hunger could have been a few reasons. The examples of this criticism becomes evident from what the coastal Leader Kodali Nani had voiced during his sudden dive into YSRCP.

Gandhi-Jayanti-03Naidu in his latest bid to woo voters for the oncoming 2014 General elections has embarked several new measures. Firstly his son Nara Lokesh evinces interest in political aspirations. Which means he is sure to be a check to Nandamuri young tiger Jr NTR. Lokesh would also be a caution to his father in law another high aspirated actor turned Leader N Bala Krishna. Then Lokesh could also mantle the responsibility like UP CM Akilesh Yadav, if at all our former CM has lost his charm for the state, which is unlikely.

Gandhi-Jayanti-04The second most important measures taken up by the TDP supremo is, embarking on a 2,340 walkathon from Hindupur on Tuesday. The cross state march, 'Padayatra is named as 'vasthunna mee kosam.' He said that since it was the birthday of Mahatma, it would be ideal to start his fight against corruption by kindling the awareness in public. Probably the leader is inspired by the freedom fighters 'Dundee March' in 1930.

Gandhi-Jayanti-05Observers also say that the leader has moved away from his usual 'V' symbol and has started doing 'Namaskaram' to people. In spite of all this, the patronage on the first day seems to be the concern of most TDP leaders. 'At least people could have come out in large numbers to witness the fete of the 62-years old veteran,' say other sympathetic veterans.

Gandhi-Jayanti-06Can Naidu regain his Midas touch with these measures, is a question haunting one and all. However after a long time Naidu's men are in news for action and not just for verbal proclamations, say critics. Anyways the leader will surely benefit in two ways with this march. One will be that he gets ample time to discuss about T issue. Secondly on accomplishment he shall beat the record of the late YSR's padayatra in 2003 which covered 1,600 Kms. The Political marathon is on, wait till 2014 for the winners...(With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
