IRCTC is going to provide automated SMS service to inform confirmation of reservation to wait listed commuters.

At present the information is given to those who inquire dialing 139.  But it makes the passengers wait with anxiety and to send SMS again and again in the hope of confirmation.  But the steps IRCTC going to take will obviate inquiring about the status by the passengers.  The moment the seat is confirmed the respected passengers will be intimated by automated SMS service.

Passengers who could not get confirmation used to go to the railways stations with an anxiety to know the status.  To simplify it IRCTC is making changes in the software through CRIS to add the automated SMS service to intimate the status.  The intimation will be made to only those passengers whose reservations get confirmed.
