Tehalka Editor Steps Down Admitting His Fault

Founder Member and Editor of Tehalka Magazine Tarun Tejpal who was complained of misconduct with a lady journalist admitted it and stepped down voluntarily from the post.

The Managing Editor Shoma Chaudhary intimated the staff of the Tehalka Magazine about the incident, “This may come as a rude surprise to many of you... There has been an untoward incident, and though he has extended an unconditional apology to the colleague involved, Tarun will be recusing himself as the editor of Tehelka for the next six months.”

Tarun Tejpal wrote the Managing Editor, The last few days have been most testing, and I squarely take the blame for this... A bad lapse of judgment, an awful misreading of the situation, have led to an unfortunate incident that rails against all we believe in and fight for.”

He also wrote in the letter, “I have already unconditionally apologised for my misconduct to the concerned journalist, but I feel impelled to atone further.”

As Tehalka is famous for unearthing the unlawful and corrupt practices in the society it is unfortunate for the organization to get a taint of that sort.
