Come Nov 30, Yedyurappa is ex-BJP minister Yedyurappa jettisons BJP

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa has mentioned that he would resign from BJP on Friday, November 30. He made the announcement in a gathering at Bidar where he was promoting his new regional outfit, Karnataka Janatha Paksha. He asked all the state MP's unit to ensure the passage of Constitution Amendment to Article 371 if they wanted to see a developed north Karnataka region. He urged them to dismember themselves from the party if the bill was not passed in the ongoing session.

He continued to lash out at BJP saying that it was the party that had coerced him to quit. "With great disappointment, I decided to come out of BJP”, he said. He had committed himself to the welfare of the state and the people if given a chance with power in his new party.

He was promoting his party which is to be launched on November 9 at Haveri while asking the people to turn up in large numbers. Yeddyurappa has been brooding ever since he was asked to step down as the CM of the state last year after he was indicted on the Lokayukta report on illegal mining.

The Lingayat leader, now 70, was the man behind BJP's power in the South. He has blamed the party for ill-treatment which was the only reason he had decided to come out of the party. He also refused to accept any position CM or party president for BJP.
