Bomb explodes in RAW Manipur

In the Research and Analysis Wing of Manipur office, a bomb had exploded but fortunately there were no casualties. The accident happened in Imphal's west district of Manipur on Friday.

Investigations revealed that the device was an improvised explosive device IED, which was planted by a few rebels who fitted it with a timer. It had damaged a few trees partly but there had been no other casualties.

The spot where the bomb exploded is just behind the Lamphel police station. This led to more speculations as to how the bomb was planted. They also suspect that the bomb might have been flung into the office complex of the central intelligence agencies in the high-security area.

The incident occurred close on the heels of the incident of a grenade being hurled by the rebels and found on Wednesday inside the secretariat of Manipur, South Block.

Banned Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), political wing of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), had claimed responsibility for the bomb attack at RAW office after blaming that it had involved in giving out information about the insurgents, strategy adopted by ultras.
Thursday's explosion was the fifth of its kind by insurgents this month.
