In the Powai suburbs of Mumbai, a speeding vehicle had crashed into a police van today in the early hours causing serious injuries to at least 5 policemen.

The Tata Sumo accident ironically occurred at a time when the cops were investigating another accident on the road.

The policemen who seemed to be injured gravely had been admitted to Rajawadi Hospital and the person driving the car was also admitted into the same hospital after he injured too. The police have registered a case of negligent and rash driving against him.

The police are awaiting further details from the medical reports to verify if he was under the influence of alcohol while driving.
