Flight makes emergency landing after teen suffers cardiac arrest

A 19-year-old person, Ibrahim Parwish Al Balooshi died on Emirates Flight due to cardiac arrest on Tuesday morning. The passenger, who was the resident of Dubai, boarded flight to Bangkok in Dubai. This flight made an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad of Hyderabad on Tuesday following the complaint of cardiac arrest.  The doctors at the airport immediately examined the passenger and declared that he was brought dead. The dead body was shifted to Apollo Hospital near the airport.


The Emirates officials, who have released an official statements, said that Ibrahim Parwish suffered cardiac arrest on flight and he was declared dead at 5.36 am. Notably, the flight landed at Shamshabad airport in the early hours. The flight later left for Dubai at around 6.10 am. The police sources confirmed that the deceased was an obese patient and weighed 220 kilograms. He was on his way (along with his parents) to Dubai for a special treatment for obesity.


The parents of the deceased took the dead body back to Dubai last night. Notably, this is first case wherein a teenager succumbed to cardiac arrest on flight.
