A text book declaring Pranab Mukherjee as the 14th President of India has created a major controversy in the country and even triggered debates. Gondwana University in Gadchiroli has prescribe a book 'Democracy in India,' to its first year B.A Political Science students and in the 4th chapter of the book, in page 84, there's a list of personalities who served as the presidents of India. The students were apparently shocked to notice the name of the presidential candidate of UPA, Pranab Mukherjee as the 14th President of the country.

This book, which was published recently, was handed over to the students. The authors of the book are Sanjay Gore and Madhukar Arjunkar. Notably, Sanjay Gore is the Chairman of the Board of Studies of this newly formed university. The various political organizations and eminent scholars demanded the University Grants Commission to suspend these two authors for not only publishing the wrong information but for trying to insult the presidential elections.

The presidential elections are scheduled to take place on July 19 and Pranab Mukherjee is just a presidential candidate. One has to wait and see what action the UGC or the university authorities will take against these authors.
