Hunger strike by pilots in Mumbai

The striking Air India pilots, who are more than 300 in number, sat for a hunger protest in Mumbai. Out of these pilots, 10 pilots are on indefinite hunger strike and they would end the strike only after Air India nods their demands. It may be recalled that pilots have been on strike since May 8 and on June 25, the strike entered 48th day.  There at Delhi, more than 100 people have been undergoing hunger protests. Among the tall demands raised by pilots, the pilots demanded Air India should recognized the derecognized Indian Pilots Guild (IPS). The pilots also wanted to reinstate the sacked pilots, who are over 100.

The government is yet to make a statement on this. The passengers of Air India have been expressing their displeasure over this strike.
