Agency for Nuclear Safety of France said an explosion took place at its Marcoule nuclear plant in southern France on Monday.
However, the nature of the explosion is not yet known and the reasons for the explosion are not revealed. The Marcoule nuclear plant is situated near the Mediterranean Sea in Langedoc Roussillon of southern France.
The local papers of the area said that one person was killed and another seriously injured in the explosion. There was no radiation leak nor were the neighboring towns asked to leave the place indicating the explosion could be of minor nature.
