Mamatha takes oath as CM

Mamatha takes oath as CM Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today took over as the first woman chief minister of the West Bengal state. She will head the TMC-Congress alliance government consisting of 36 ministers drawn from both the parties.
 
Governor M.K. Narayanan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Ms. Banerjee on the Raj Bhavan lawns in the presence of distinguished guests at 1.01 PM at her instance.
 
Union home minster P Chidambaram, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and his wife, CPI (M) state secretary Biman Bose, CPI state secretary Manju Kumar Majumder, RSP leader Kshiti Goswami and Forward Bloc state secretary Ashok Ghosh were among the guests who were present at the swearing-in.

Earlier, Mamatha resigned as the Union Minister for Railways ahead of her swearing in ceremony in Calcutta.
