15,233 New Coronavirus Cases and 151 Deaths Reported in India:- After the daily tally of coronavirus cases dipped down close to 10,000 yesterday, they had a small hike today and a total number of 15,233 new cases of coronavirus are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. The total tally of active cases in the country reached below 2 lakh mark and the number stands at 1.92 lakhs. 151 new deaths are reported in the country yesterday and 97 percent of the people recovered completely from coronavirus in India till date. A total number of 7.86 lakh healthcare workers received the vaccine for coronavirus in the country till date and the first phase of the vaccination drive is underway. Kerala continues to stay on the top with 6815 new cases reported in the last 24 hours and Maharashtra stands second with 3015 new cases. United Kingdom has been shattered with the second wave of coronavirus cases and 1800 deaths are reported in the last 24 hours. 93,290 people passed away in the country in the last 28 days. The total coronavirus cases in the country now stand at 1,05,95,660 and 16,988 people recovered from coronavirus in the last one day. The death tally in the country now stands at 1,52,718. As per the reports from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 18,85,66,947 samples are tested in the country till date and the samples tested yesterday are said to be 7,64,120.

AP High Court Grants Permission For Panchayat Polls:- In a shocking move, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh granted permission for conducting the Panchayat polls in the state. The State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and the state Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy are at loggerheads over conducting the panchayat polls in the state. The High Court today asked the government to move ahead with the election commission and ordered them of conducting the panchayat polls (local body polls) that are pending from the past one year in the state. The State Election Commission recently approached the High Court after the government was hesitant about the local body polls. This came as a rude shock for the government of Andhra Pradesh about the elections. The AP government is keen to challenge the decision in the Supreme Court very soon. The Election Commission approached the High Court after a single judge issued an interim order. The court suspended the order. The High Court listened to the arguments of both the sides after which the verdict was announced. The High Court bench comprising of Chief Justice AK Goswami and Justice C Praveen Kumar announced the verdict. The State Election Commission announced the election schedule for the local body polls on January 8th and they are scheduled to take place on February 4th. Centre puts Farm Laws on Hold for 18 months:- In a significant move, the Centre decided to put the introduced three farm laws on hold for the next 18 months after the farmers have been protesting against them. Several rounds of discussions failed completely and the farmers are not in a mood to make amendments. The Supreme Court too shocked the Centre recently and the farmers are all set for a massive protest on January 26th. The farmer unions refused to appear before the Supreme Court appointed experts committee. The Centre during their talks offered to form a joint committee of the government along with the farmer union representatives in it. The Centre made sure that the farm laws introduced will be kept on hold till the committee submits a detailed report. The Farmer Unions agreed for the same and the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the next set of discussions will take place on January 22nd. Tomar highlighted that the Supreme Court asked the farm laws to be kept on hold for a short duration. The government along with the farmer unions are expected to find the perfect solution over this period of 18 months expressed Narendra Singh Tomar. He said that the farmer unions expressed their views and the talks went on in a cordial atmosphere.

Sasikala rushed to a Bengaluru Hospital:- VK Sasikala, the close aide of Tamil Nadu ex-Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been released from a Bengaluru prison recently. After a week left for her release, she complained of fever and breathlessness and Sasikala was rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru. She is admitted in Bowring and Lady Curzon government hospital in the city from the central prison today. Sasikala was arrested in 2017 after the Supreme Court announced her as the accused in the disproportionate assets case which was pending from the past two decades. Sasikala has been serving jail term for four years now. Her oxygen levels are said to be quite low today and she complained of breathlessness after which Sasikala was rushed to the hospital today. The doctors haven't confirmed if Sasikala is tested positive for coronavirus. The tests are conducted currently. Sasikala will be released from the Bengaluru prison on January 27th at 10 AM.

Pawan Kalyan to Shoot for two Simultaneous Projects:- Powerstar Pawan Kalyan completed the shoot of his upcoming movie Vakeel Saab and the top actor is also busy with his political commitments. Pawan Kalyan recently resumed the shoot of his next film directed by Krish which is tentatively titled Viroopakshi. A short two weeks schedule of the film is happening in Aluminium Factory, Hyderabad in a specially constructed set. Viroopakshi is a periodic drama and will release at the end of this year. Pawan Kalyan also gave his nod for the remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake which will be directed by Saagar Chandra.
