4446 new cases reported in Telangana:- The number of coronavirus cases are taking a huge rise all over. Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana too witnessed huge rise in the number in the recent week. A total number of 4446 new cases of coronavirus are reported in the last 24 hours in Telangana which is a huge rise in the number when compared to the previous months. 12 deaths are reported in the state in the last 24 hours and there are 33,514 active cases of coronavirus in Telangana. There are 11,396 patients who are admitted to various hospitals in the state and there are 22,118 people who are in home isolation and quarantine. Around 15 districts reported more than 100 new cases in Telangana. All the hospitals in Telangana are full and there is huge scarcity for beds. GHMC remains to be the most impacted region of the state with 598 new cases reported and Medchal Malkajgiri reported 435 new cases and 326 cases are reported in Rangareddy district. Nizamabad district which happens to be the border for Maharashtra too is impacted and 314 new cases are reported in the district in the past one day. 1414 people recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours and the total recoveries reached 3,11,008. The recovery percent of Telangana stands at 89.8 percent and the recovery rate of the country is at 87.2 percent. The total coronavirus tests conducted in Telangana are 1,16,08,116 and the total positive cases reported are 3,46,331.

Indian coronavirus tally reaches 2.34 lakhs:- The daily tally of coronavirus cases are increasing on a super-fast note and the daily tally stands at 2,34,692 in the last 24 hours. The country reported more than 2 lakh cases for the third straight day and 1341 deaths are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan will hold a meeting with the Health Ministers of 11 states today to review the situation of the coronavirus in the states. Maharashtra and New Delhi continued to top in the most affected states in the country. A total number of 63,729 cases are reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours and the total tally reached 37 lakh mark. Delhi reported 19,486 cases in the last 24 hours and the total tally crossed 8 lakh mark in the national capital. A total number of 1,26,71,220 people recovered completely in the country. There are 16,79,740 active cases reported in the country till date and the death toll stands at 1,75,649. The total number of people who took vaccinations till date are said to be 11,99,37,641. As per the data from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested for coronavirus yesterday are said to be 14,95,397 and the total samples tested in the country are 26,49,72,022. All the states are asked to impose the restrictions on their own but the Centre asked the states not to impose any restrictions between the inter-state and the intrastate travel.

Telangana running out of beds after the rise in the cases:- The new cases of coronavirus are increasing on a fast note in all the states. Telangana is no exception and the state's capital Hyderabad reported huge numbers in the recent week. Telangana is now running out of beds because the sudden rise in the number of cases. The Health Department of Telangana ordered Gandhi Hospital to be converted into a COVID-19 treatment hospital considering the currrent situation as there is a huge scarcity for beds in the hospitals. Though the Telangana government claimed that there are enough vacant beds, the situation is completely different for now. There are several patients who are waiting for ventilator or CPAP support. The Health Department issued orders to stop other services in Gandhi Hospital and convert into a coronavirus treatment centre considering the situation. Gandhi hospital will stop all the services from today along with the outpatient services. All the non-covid patients will be shifted to other state-run hospitals. As per the reports, there are 10,279 patients admited in various hospitals in the state. As per the state records, the total number of beds available in the state are 27,775. The private hospitals are packed and there is huge scarcity for beds in the state for now. The situations in states like Maharashtra, New Delhi, Gujarat, Kerala are alarming. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the situation in the country after more than 2 lakh new cases of coronavirus are reported in the country on a regular basis. Veteran comedian Vivek passed away April 17, 2021 09:37

Veteran comedian Vivek passed away:- Tamil film industry is left in deep shock because of the untimely demise of veteran actor and comedian Vivek. The 59-year-old actor suffered a massive heart attack on Friday at 11 AM and he was rushed to SIMS Hospital. The doctors conducted all the necessary tests and confirmed the 100 percent blockage of LAD (left anterior descending artery). An angioplasty along with stenting was conducted to Vivek last evening but the doctors named that his health condition was critical. Vivek suffered one more massive heart attack this morning and he breathed his last at 4:35 AM today. He was kept on ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit and a team of experts are monitoring his health condition. Tamil film industry woke up to a sad news about the sudden demise of Vivek. Condolences poured in for his family members. Vivek is survived by his wife and two daughters. The hospital authorities released a medical bulletin that Vivek passed away at 4:35 AM today. Vivek was in unconscious condition when he was brought to the hospital yesterday. He complained of discomfort after which his family members rushed him to the hospital.The hospital authorities said that the heart attack took place due to an acute coronary syndrome with a cardiogenic shock and it was not related to the coronavirus vaccine which Vivek took on Thursday. The hospital also conducted coronavirus tests and the report said that Vivek had no coronavirus. Vivek had mild elevated blood pressure told the hospital authorities. The last rites of Vivek will be held in Kovilpatti in Tuticorin district in Tamil Nadu. Rest in peace Vivek.

NASA releases the dunes speckle pictures of Mars:- The images of dunes speckling on the surface of the Mars are now trending all over. The gorgeous picture was clicked by NASA's Odyssey orbiter that is released on April 8th and it revealed that Mars has extreme and varying temperatures on the planet in a sea of dunes. All the pictures are taken from the northern polar cap of Mars which are shown as long and weaving lines by the wind. Mars does not have any blue patches and the blue regions in the pictures revealed that they are colder regions and the yellowish-orange color indicates that the regions are warmer, told the officials of NASA. The image is shot for an area of 19 miles which is equal to 30 kms wide. The pictures also have clearly shown that there are sand dunes in various locations of the Mars. Some of the dunes are spotted in frost that comes as per the season. The new image of Mars was released on April 8th and they comprised the pictures from December 2002 to November 2004. The images are released on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Odyssey that was launched on April 7th, 2001. They began observing Mars from the past two decades. The study on Mars continues till now and the Mars Odyssey orbiter holds a record for the longest active spacecraft that is orbiting around any planet.

Zoom fatigue has a huge impact in Women:- The coronavirus pandemic shattered the daily plans of everyone and most of them are restricted to their homes. Most of them are carrying the work stress for hours beyond their shifts and are missing the regular workout sessions. Meetings from home-generated a lot of stress among the working men and women. This is impacting women more than men and is named Zoom fatigue. This is named after the exhaustion created through online meetings and they have impacted one among seven women which is 13.8 percent. They are feeling extremely fatigued during the online calls as per the study from the Stanford University. The study is published in the journal Technology, Mind and Behaviour. Around 10,322 women participated in the survey that took place in February and March. This happened due to the excessive spending for video conferences and online meetings through Zoom calls. The data clearly shows that women are impacted more than men, told Jeffrey Hancock, professor of communication in the School of Humanities and Sciences. He is also the co-author of the study. Self-focused attention is the major reason for the exhaustion in women. Zoom fatigue is also found to take place due to the lack of physical movement. Most of the employed men and women are spending time before their laptops and desktops during the office hours. Most of them are not able to plan their breaks and have meals on time.

Former NIMS Director Kakarla is no more:- Renowned Radiologist and forrmer Director of Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Dr Kakarla Subba Rao passed away during the late hours of Friday in Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Secunderabad at the age of 94. Kakarla Subba Rao is known for his efforts for the transformation of NIMS into a super-speciality hospital. He worked as the director of NIMS between 1985 and 1990 and again between 1997 and 2004. He took retirement after 2004. Kakarla Subba Rao was unwell from a month and was admitted in KIMS. Kakarla Subba Rao breathed his last due to health complications. Kakarla Subba Rao worked as a Professor of Radiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York after which he returned back to India in the year 1986. He took a call after the request of AP Chief Minister Late N T Rama Rao and joined NIMS. Kakarla Subba Rao's efforts and works for NIMS is widely lauded across the medical circles. The Indian government honoured him with Padmasri in the year 2000 for his immense contribution in the field of medicine. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao offered his condolences on the demise of Sri Kakarla Subba Rao. He was born in an agricultural family in 1925 in Krishna district. He obtained a medical degree from Andhra Medical College, Vizag after which he flew to the United States for higher studies in 1951. He worked in the hospitals of New York and Baltimore. Curtains down for Nagarjuna Sagar bypoll Campaign:- All the political parties of Telangana took the Nagarjuna Sagar bypoll prestigiously and campaigned all over ahead of the polls. The election is scheduled to take place on April 17th and the campaign came to an end by Thursday. The ruling TRS is quite confident in retaining the seat. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) held a public meeting in Haliya on Wednesday. KCR during this public meeting promised to complete the key Nellikal Lift Irrigation Scheme in 18 months. KCR cited several development activities made in the state over these years after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and after TRS took charge. As per the analysts, there would be a tough fight between TRS and Congress. TRS fielded Nomula Bhagath and K Jana Reddy is contesting from Congress. 39 candidates are contesting in the polls and BJP fielded Pandugothu Ravi Kumar.
