Analysis :

The film starts slow and picks up in the middle. Establishing the leads is decent but the love angle between Vishnu and Catherine lacks soul. Couple of songs are good but appear to be brakes for the flow of the movie. Overall, the first half is just average.

The second half of the film is an overdose. Dasari being the director of the film, added emotions and melodrama to the plot. Seems like he added excess of it and so it irritates the audience. The comedy in the second half is clearly unnecessary and does not provide any laugh. As the film reach the climax, the film loses its grip. On the whole the second half is below average.

Performance :

Manchu Vishnu was good. He changed his style and looked fabulous. He also performed well and probably this is the first Vishnu has done a over quotient emotional film. But he keeps his cool and did whatever is necessary. Dasari is ok as an out and out countryman. He equally performs with Vishnu in the drama scenes but somewhere we might feel, he did not fill the role completely.

Catherine is decent. She added glamour but it is a tough luck for her.

Final Word: Erra Bassu is plain journey, nothing excites.
