Like any other film that comes from Ram Gopal Varma’s direction, even ‘Not a Love Story’, got into many controversies, some time before the release. The film, that is made based on Model Maria Susairaj’s case, that revolves around the Murder of a Television Executive, and accused being Maria Susairaj and her fiancé. The film, before its release, went through a bit of controversies, as before a week’s release, Maria has filed a case against Varma for making a film based on a former’s real life story, without her concern. However, every issue has been resolved later. Here is the Review of the Movie released on August 19th
Story:
The Story of the film starts when a small town actress Anusha Chawla (Mahie Gill) faces an indecent proposal from a producer, who asks her to fulfill his wish in order to get a film offer. Anusha walks out of the cabin of the Producer, but, this attitude of her does not remain for a longer time and her decision to compromise, leads to the rest of the story. Later, we can see how Anusha gets along with Ajay Bhatnagar (Ajay Gehi), sleeps around with him, how their relationship develops, how Anusha’s fiancé Robin (Deepak Dobriyal) gets possessive about Anusha after getting to know her closeness with Ajay, and how this leads to Ajay’s murder by Robin. And post this, how Anusha helping Robin to wipe out all the evidence, yet how they both proved guilty under the Court of law. The story is entirely similar to that of the line taken from the Original story.
Analysis & Performance:
The performance of all the star cast of the film, have done their best. Zahir Khan appeared as an investigative officer and suited the role. The take off of the film, the story that was run the film, the sequences that connect the film, everything was put in place. Ram Gopal Varma, after a very long time, succeeded in making ‘his’ kind of a film. though the film is based on a real story, certain sequences of both Anusha and Robin indulging in physical contact after Robin murders Ajay, Anusha helping out Ajay in dismantling the dead body of Ajay into pieces, and certain more sequences were of too much violence, but that has become ‘common’ in many films today. The back ground score by Sandeep Chowta, seems to be okay. Overall, the film makes you involved while watching the same.
