Parama Veera Chakra Review

The story

True to its title, Darsaka Ratna Dasari Narayana Rao’s 150th film, Parama Veera Chakra featuring Natasimham Parama Veera Chakra movie reviewNandamuri Balakrishna, revolves around an unending fight between terrorists and patriotic military officials.

Bala Krishna, being a highly motivated and patriotic military officer, called Jay Simha, tries his best in the discharge of his duties of securing the country’s boarders but he gets killed by the terrorists. Jay’s friend Kumar, played by Vijay Kumar, colludes with terrorists and helps them in killing Jay as he becomes an obstruction in carrying out anti-national activities. What is worse is that he schemes and plots to show Jay as an anti national and enemy of the state.

After Balakrishna the military officer gets killed at the hands of terrorists, Balakrishna the movie artiste, called Chakradhar, and the look-alike of the officer Jay, enters the scene and dons the role of the slain military officer at the behest of the army top brass and helps the country terminate the problem of terrorism. Film actor, the look alike of Jay, completes the task successfully and gets the Parama Veera Chakra award in the end.

The movie opens with a scene from Bobbili Puli and brings the memories of late legendary actor NTR but the greatness of Dasari lies in his abilities in bringing out the hidden talent of Balakrishna in roles unseen hitherto on the screen. Balakrishna as Ravana Brahma exudes well beyond expectations.
The scenes involving Brahmanandam as a scientist and Ali as Chitti the Robot in a spoof of the superstar Rajanikanth’s Robo successfully bring out the laughs in you.

The lacunae

The flaw lies in the fact that the introduction of Balakrishna the actor is straight and direct in the very beginning of the movie and when the senior army officer Jitendra narrates the story of Jay Simha to Balakrishna the actor and asks him to enact his role for the sake of the country, the audiences will come to know that the look-alike will play the role.

The director failed to maintain the suspense in the story with his straight narration and the moment flashback starts, the excitement will be lost. This clearly indicates that Dasari seems to have been running out of ideas in the construction of a suspense-filled narrative story.

While the loud dialogues of Balakrishna will be music to the ears of his fans, normal audiences may not like those lengthy and high pitched ones. Music by Manisharma and photography by Ramanaraju are exceptionally good.

For a change, you can view ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ as it presents a different story line and different scenes when compared to other routine movies.
