Manish’s show was high on the B-Town quotient.

Exceptional Manish Malhotra...

Manish Malhotra who showcased the closing show for day one at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 themed his line around 100 years of Indian Cinema. Fact-fully, the show turned out to be extra special as Ashatai made her ramp debut. 

Legendary Asha Bhosle, who was seated in the front-row of the show along with dreamgirl Hema Malini and Oscar-winning costume designer Bhanu Athaiya, was called up on stage while she said that she's very proud to be a part of this industry and that the only thing left for her to do was to walk the ramp. 

Absolute interestingly, the singer walked the length of the ramp with style to a cheering audience who gave her a standing ovation. 

The designer, who traced the journey of Indian cinema from 1913 had friend Karan Johar open the show in a black embroidered kurta while he was followed by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar all in black.

Fast forwarding to the present and he had Varun Dhawan walk in a turquoise silk jacket with a deep-cut kurta shirt flaunting his chest. 

Moreover, Siddharth Malhotra also took to the ramp in a pink high-collared coat. Priyanka Chopra was next in a neon green net and chiffon sari teamed with a skimpy grey choli while the actress took to the mike to commemorate the 100th birthday of the film industry. She in fact added, if Indian cinema is a cake, then Manish Malhotra is like the cherry on top. 

To conclude, Manish’s long-time close friends Kajol and Karisma Kapoor who were also front-row guests joined him on stage later to congratulate him.

The event was indeed an exceptional delight!
