It was a dream come true for Deepika, when she was offered a lead role opposite Super Star Rajni Kanth, in his ‘Rana’. Without a second thought, deepika agreed to do the project. Even on the ‘Rana’s launch date, she was seen with all the excitement, meeting all the guests and greeting them. But, soon after the launch date, Rajni was hospitalized. His health condition, as of now is safe. But doctors advised him a complete rest of six months. So, ‘Rana’ would be delayed for more six months. Deepika is very upset with this sudden change in her happiness. Because of this film, deepika did not agree any new projects in B – Town. Now this does not mean that Deepika is with no films in her hand, she is as of now working in Prakash Jha's ambitious project Aarakshan co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan. She plays Bachchan's daughter and Khan's love-interest in the film. She will also be featured in Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz alongside Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Homi Adajania's Cocktail opposite Saif Ali Khan. It is said that deepika is counting days for the six months to get complete and ‘Rana’s shooting to resume.
