Political circles are very anxious to find an answer to the million dollar question whether the congress high command will dare to take disciplinary action against those MLAs and MLCs accompanying the former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy’s limited version of fast in Delhi.
Even though the PCC president D. Srinivas and the AP congress affairs in-charge Veerappa Moily announced that the attendance of MLAs and MPs at the Jagan fasting camp in Delhi would be treated as a defiance of party diktats and they would be served with notices, the question continues to bother is whether the party would really serve notices to them as more than 20 MLAs, two MPs and some MLCs attended the fast.
The congress leadership fears that the Kirankumar reddy government may fall if notices are served on as many MLAs as 21. This is the only development Jagan has been waiting for. In fact, the congress is counting on the support of the PRP MLAs but PRP is also in disarray as most of its MLAs are ready for supporting Jagan taking the bait of big money that is likely to be offered by him. While some of the PRP MLAs have openly announced support to Jagan, some more of them are in secret understanding with him. So, surely congress cannot confidently depend on the support of PRP as its president Chiranjeevi has no control over his MLAs in case of trial of strength in the assembly.
TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is also waiting for midterm elections and Jagan’s ambition is also aimed at toppling the Kirankumar reddy government which leads to mid-term elections. The only political party which does not want mid term elections now is the congress. In this background, it is very doubtful whether the congress high command will serve notices on the defiant MLAs who attended the Jagan fast in Delhi.
